Prostitutes were divided into grades in the end of Qing Dynasty in Beijing. The first grade prostitutes were not only pretty but also good at playing musical instruments and singing. The second grade prostitutes were very pretty. The third grade prostitutes were ordinary looking. The lowest grade prostitutes were aged women. These four grades prostitutes served for man of different ranks.
